How To Use Keywords In Your Articles to Make Money Online

How To Use Keyword In Your Articles To Make Money Online

If you are a blogger, webmaster or other article wirter you know about key keywords.  If you are a new writer, expecially those wishing to turn a profit, you should learn about using keywords.  Using keywords effectivly can help you make money online.

There are several ways to use keywords in your articles if you want to come out on top of the search engines.  Each of these is described below:

Using Keywords in Your URLs and Titles
If you want to write an article about making money online, give your article a proper title like "How to write articles to make money online" or "making money online writing articles".  Additionally your url should also use the same keywords as part of the address.  Modern blogging software will do this automatically for you so your rul will be something like: http:///#

Using Keywords with Images
If you have images in your articles you should put descriptive phrases with your keywords in the name and alt id and title attributes of the images.  The alt tags are used to provide information about the image if it does not appear; the name and id attributes are for identification, the title attribute is for rollovers.  Each of these are great places for keywords, support by the various search engines is not guaranteed, but it could bring your images up on image searches, which is one click away from your website.

Using Keywords with Links
When you put a link in your article or blog, you want to make it descriptive to the user, but also valuable to search engines.  Don't do things like this: Click here to learn how to make money online.  While that technique is great for people who can see the context of the link, most search engines will not value the link very highly.  A better approach would be to make the context part of the link as in the following example: This article explains how to make money online.

Placing Keywords and Keyword Density
Heavy usage of your keywords throughout your article is not encouraged; rather use your keywords at specific locations and in a frequency that mimics conversational usage.  You can study keyword density and figure out what percentage of keywords to non-keywords achieves the best results, and perhaps that will pay better, but keeping your articles clear and not  over-indulging in keyword usage is likely to achieve a fine balance.

You should use your keyword stuffed links in the first paragraph of your article, perhaps a sentence or two into the article and again at the end of the article.  Don't overdo it, probably two to three links max per target should do well.

Using Key Phrases Instead of Keywords
When I speak of keywords, I also mean key phrases.  Key phrases are keyword laden phrases that appear in normal speech or the text of internet searches.  If you wanted to search for making money online, you would probably type in "How to make money online" instead of individually using the keywords money and online.  Thus when people are seaching for your articles content, they will morel likely find your articles if you have used an exact match to the phrase they are searching for than if you have used a samplink of the keywords.
